Choosing the right sauna for you should be a fun experience!
We know our saunas inside and out and have over 1000 happy infrared sauna customers from coast to coast. We are always available to answer your emails and phone calls about our saunas.
Infrared Heaters
What we have found through years of feedback and discussion with our customers is that it really ends up being personal preference as the health benefits are similar for both ceramic or carbon heaters. There are benefits to both of them and we will list them here to help answer any questions you may have.
Ceramic Heaters
- Pure Sauna heater tubes have an interior glass tube surrounded by a coil that emits heat out to the exterior ceramic tube. This ceramic tube produces Far Infrared heat which is what you feel when sitting inside the sauna.
- This is typically described as a double walled ceramic tube and usually come in 125 watt, 150 watt, 200 watt, 300 watt, and 350 watt sizes and are distributed throughout the sauna.
- Saunas with ceramic tubes will heat up faster then saunas with carbon fiber heaters. Warm up time for a sauna with ceramic tubes is 15 minutes.
- Ceramic tubes are very durable and should last 20+ years. If you do need to replace a heater tube, you would be able to buy one for $20-$30.
Carbon Heaters
- Pure Sauna carbon fiber heaters are flat panels that come in 40 to 350 watt sizes and are distributed throughout the sauna.
- Carbon fiber panels offer even infrared heat distribution throughout the sauna as they cover the back, sides, front, legs, and floor of the sauna depending on the model you choose.
- Warm up time of 20 minutes
Wood Construction
- Your Pure Sauna will be built and constructed of Canadian wood from Alberta.
- Please do not be confused by other companies who only sell one type of wood that tell you all other woods are toxic or will warp. You do not need to be scared into buying a specific type of wood! Both hemlock and cedar are very strong, durable, and they are not toxic.
- The main difference between them is that cedar has a darker colour and has a cedar smell. So if you really enjoy the scent of cedar or it will fit into your decor, then cedar is for you! The main reason to choose hemlock is that it is hypoallergenic and has little to no scent.
- Pure Saunas are made with tongue and groove construction and interior and exterior walls are 7mm thick. Again, please don't get scared into buying a sauna because of a millimeter. You can come to our showroom and see the saunas in person, they are built to last!
- We do not use toxic glues and have never come across a sauna company in Canada that does as there is no reason to use them.
- We do not fumigate our saunas and no company in Canada does this that we are aware of. They are kiln dried for a minimum of 45 days as this prevents the wood from warping.
